Carl Sandburg College’s second art show of the 2022-23 academic year will feature Joshua Niles: Deconstructing Landscapes from Oct. 24 - Jan. 17 in the Lonnie Eugene Stewart Art Gallery.
Josh Niles is an oil painter and watercolorist. His work primarily focuses on the investigation of empathy and experience through the lens of color and mark across the landscapes of his life. He achieved his MFA at Southern Illinois University, his BFA at Western Illinois University, and his AFA at Carl Sandburg College. His work is on display in several private collections from California to Virginia. He is a working artist and has been published in magazines such as Beyond Word and has had work on display in Galleries primarily in Chicago. He is currently a Professor at Tidewater Community College and runs small projects to give back to his community through donations of small watercolors.
A reception for Niles’ exhibition, “Deconstructing Landscapes,” will take place from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Friday, November 4 in the gallery located in Building D on Sandburg’s Main Campus in Galesburg, 2400 Tom L. Wilson Blvd. Both the show and reception are free and open to the public.
